Mr Big Tops - Sweets by post

This was probably the best discovery I've made in a long time! You've all heard of Graze boxes right? Well how about a box full of all your sweet childhood favourites?!
Thanks to entrepreneurs Luke Booth, Chris Eves and Sam Hargreaves, that little hole you had in your life can now be filled with Mr Big Tops.

Check out this great article from the Maidenhead Advertiser, of which explains more about how it all began.

As I write this post, with 3 days to go, there are still just over a thousand boxes left. So let's give these guys a hand and get these boxes sold for them! You can purchase one, or more simply through your Paypal account from the Mr Big Tops Website.

2,500 limited edition Christmas gold boxes are up for sale, to help promote the launch of the full Mr Big Tops website

It's also only 3 days to go until they launch their website, which by the screenshot they have already posted, it's going to look awesome.

I'm very much looking forward to receiving my Mr Big Tops Gold box in December.
Once I get it I'm definitely going to make a video that's for sure!

Cox and Baloney's Vintage Boutique - Tea Rooms

Last weekend, after an hour or so trying wedding dresses on, my friend Becky and I headed to this beautiful boutique and tea room on Cheltenham Road, Bristol.

After a look through the Lunch Menu, we decided to go for the 'Lilly's Afternoon Tea (A Special Treat!)'. Priced at £21 for two people (tea option), we found it to be great value.

The tea came in a large pot with different patterned cups and saucers. They had a selection of 15 different loose leaf teas to choose from, we settled for 'Mr Darcy' which is the English Breakfast tea.

For the lunch there was a choice of 5 different sandwich fillings. We settled for egg/cucumber and tuna/sweetcorn. A small selection of cake slices were given to you on the second layer.

And to top it off there were 2 scones with fresh clotted cream and locally sourced jam. I like the fact this was presented in little expresso cups :)

The atmosphere in there was amazing, we were also lucky to have live music. The roaring fire gave it a cosy feel, the fireplace in itself is stunning to look at. I think we ended up staying for about 2 hours, just wonderful. The staff were also great and welcoming too.

We will certainly be visiting again soon, so many people I want to take there! Also don't forget to check out the little boutique they have next door, full of pretty dresses and items for your home.

Check out their Facebook page, also don't forget to follow them on Twitter.

Squashies Competition - I won!

Back in September I was browsing through my Facebook page as you do and I came across a little competition from Squashies. The question was 'What is the squashiest item in the room you're in right now? Best two answers will receive free squashies!'. At the time I was sat at my desk at work and the one squashy things I had was this years Red Nose Day nose and my desk alien. I noticed no one else had replied with an image so I thought I would give it a shot.

The next day I had a notification telling me that I had been tagged in the post and that I had won!! Just over a week later this box appeared at my door.

Dear Helen
Congratulations for winning our "Squashies item" competition!
We hope you enjoy your Squashies.
Kind regards
Swizzels Matlow Ltd

I was surprised and happy to realise that they had sent me a large and small version of each flavour from the range.

Thanks Swizzels Matlow!!!

Scrumptiously Sweet Shop, Bristol

Whilst walking down Gloucester Road with my friend Becky in Bristol the other day, we came across this lovely sweet shop. The layout was what I would call traditional with jars of everyones favourites lining the walls. Towards the back of the shop there was a room of baking goodies, from cupcakes cases to coloured icing.

The one thing this shop brought back for me was a lovely childhood memory, sweets priced in pennies (some of them), small paper bags and plastic coloured scoops. I actually cannot remember the last time I saw a box of Black Jacks or Fruit Salads at 2p a piece! There were also marshmallows at 1p, along with flying saucers at 2p each. I got great joy standing there and counting it all, sounds sad but it really took me back.

Also 99p per 100g, bargain!! There was a fantastic range of Pick'N'Mix. Most places these days will not allow this due to some health and safety rules (well I think that's why you don't see it as often).

If you're in the Bristol area then I recommend visiting, lovely staff and something for everyone.
